About our Centre:

Eildon Road  Children’s Centre and is a small, not-for-profit community run childcare centre located in a quiet residential street in St Kilda. The Centre only offers 44 places across three rooms Babies (0-2 years), Toddlers (2-3 years) and Kindergarten (3-5 years) and is open from 7:30am – 6:30pm for 50 weeks of the year. Eildon Road Children's Centre  is managed by a supportive committee of parents dedicated to providing an inclusive environment for all children and staff and operates under stable financial governance. We have a strong and proud history of staff retention which the Centre prides itself on. 


Duties:



  • To ensure total compliance with all relevant requirements of the Food Safety Program and with the National Quality Standards/Framework.

  • To plan and display, in consultation with the Co-ordinator, a menu for children 0-6 years of age which is nutritional, well balanced, suited to dietary needs of the children, reflects a variety of cultural backgrounds and is in keeping with the Early Years Learning and Development Nutrition, Food and Beverages Policy.

  • To ensure all procedures are maintained to high standards eg: hygiene, overall presentation of kitchen area.

  • To purchase food provisions which are required each week/month in line with the centre menu and according to the Budget.

  • To relate, support and work effectively with all staff, students and volunteers.

  • To liaise and interact with parents in a friendly and non-judgemental way in relation to their child’s needs.

  • To attend staff meetings, in-service training and to pursue your own professional development requirements.

  • To maintain a professional approach to work which reflects the Centre’s philosophy, policies and procedures and ensures confidentiality in all aspects of Centre operations

  • To carry out other duties as requested by the Co-Ordinator or 2IC.

  • To meet all requirements set out and comply with Internal and External Food/ Kitchen Audits.

  • To meet and maintain requirements for a Class 1 Kitchen.
