About You

About the role


Work for Canberra's No.1 Hydraulic Engineering Company, established for 30 years.  We are looking for a dedicated and driven individual who can contribute to overall strategic planning as well as being responsible for overseeing a large range of day to day office functions and business operations.


As we expand, you will be responsible for implementing changes to take the business to the next level.  Your hard work, persistence and enthusiasm, including additional hours will drive the company forward to reach it's goals.


Private business sector experience is required.  An industry specific background will be a strong advantage: Hydraulics | Mechanical | Industrial or similar.


Duties:



  • Responsible for co-ordination, planning and support of operational and administrative functions;

  • Oversee professional reception/phone and customer management;

  • Develop processes /procedures to improve efficiency and meet business goals and objectives;

  • Special projects 

  • Oversee bookkeeping and complex volume invoicing

  • Analysing, measuring and setting budgets 

  • Assist with job scheduling;

  • HR management including training and managing junior staff;

  • Supporting and working closely with Directors to implement change

  • Review and enhance workflow efficiencies across the business including implementing software and systems

Skills and experience



  • Diploma of Business Administration

  • A proven track record in office/business management

  • A very strong work ethic with a results focussed mindset

  • Engineering or similar industry - highly preferred

  • Exceptional knowledge of MS Office Suite

  • Accounting software - preferably MYOB

  • Strong interpersonal and time management skills

  • Effective relationship building & leadership skills across all stakeholders

  • Immaculate personal presentation
