Job Description

We require a part time Practice Nurse (Monday - Thursday) to work within our wonderful Sunny Street service. Sunny Street provides outreach healthcare to people experiencing homelessness and complex vulnerability.  We currently have 1 full time GP within the practice. 

The role involves traveling to different outreach locations on the sunshine coast (1.5 days a week) with perhaps a 1 day a fortnightly Gympie clinic. Primarily you will be supporting the Doctor at the outreach clinics, immunisation's, spirometry, ECGs, wound care, assisting in minor procedures, chronic disease management and health assessments, completing care plans. This role works with individuals who have been quite often disengaged with mainstream health services. 

Essential criteria to be successful in this role:

• Current APHRA registration, CPR certificate


• High level of communication skills with both patients and staff


• High level of compassion & non-judgemental philosophy


• Ability to work autonomously and as part of a team


• Previous experience in a General Practice is an advantage


• PC skills (Word, Excel) and previous use of Best Practice would be an advantage.


• problem solving skills & collaborative attitude is essential.


• Experience with Immunisation.
