SITE ASSISTANT DIRECTOR
Children’s Services Award 2010 CSE Level 5
Part Time - minimum 24 hours per week
One Year Contract – commencing 12th April 2021

KICS main site is in Kingscote and we have two outreach services based at Penneshaw Kindergarten and an Out of School Hours Care at Kingscote campus.
Kangaroo Island Children's Services (KICS) is seeking a part time Penneshaw Centre Based Care Site Assistant Director. This is a Level 5 role requiring applicants to hold a Diploma in Early Childhood Education and Care, AQF Advance Diploma or any relevant Early Childhood Qualification.
The Site Assistant Director is accountable to the Director and Assistant Director for the co-ordination and direction of activities in the service, ensuring that quality care is provided. This role will require you to work directly with children. Working across sites may be required; however the role will initially be based in Penneshaw. Working across sites allows opportunity for increased hours.
We are seeking a person who has sound knowledge of current pedagogical practice and leadership skills. In this role you will need well developed interpersonal, negotiation, verbal and written communication skills. The Site Assistant Director will ensure that a vibrant, interesting, varied and appropriate children's program is developed and implemented to meet the ongoing needs of the children. The Site Assistant Director will support the Director and Assistant Director in implementing the philosophy, policies and procedures of the service.
SPECIAL CONDITIONS
- Have a current Provide an emergency first aid and response to an education and care setting (HLTAID004) certificate.
- Current Working With Children Check (WWCC) – Approved in South Australia
- Successful completion of Responding to Abuse and Neglect - Education and Care training
- Attendance at out of hours meetings, training and Service functions may be required (Award conditions apply)
- Current Driver’s License and a reliable vehicle is a preferred condition of employment. (Award conditions apply)
