Job Description


We are seeking a passionate Psychologist who is looking to broaden their clinical skills and experiences in a thriving, supportive and enjoyable multidisciplinary team environment.  You will be additionally attractively rewarded in the role.  We have options available in Tuggerah on the Central Coast and Broadmeadow in Newcastle.


Innervate Pain Management is the leading private provider of intensive multidisciplinary pain programs in Australia.  We love our work, we are good at it, and we have fun. Based in Newcastle NSW, Innervate provides services to people experiencing pain in the Hunter and Central Coast areas as well as across Australia through on-line services. Innervate clients gain access to a world class, dynamic best practice clinic including: Pain Specialists; Health, Clinical and General Psychology; a Physiotherapist/Program Coordinator; Nurses; APA Pain Titled Physiotherapists; Exercise Physiologists; and a Psychiatrist. At Innervate we recognise that no one health discipline can adequately address the multi-factorial nature of pain. We treat the whole person.  Pre-surgical screening, EAP services, and general psychological services are provided individually.  Innervate Pain Management is a Level 1 Pain Treatment Facility according to the Australian Pain Society classification, and part of an accredited training facility (ANZCA) and is involved with ongoing research projects.  A strong mentoring program with peer supervision and professional development are provided as part of your ongoing employment. We also host and train Medical and Psychology students.


About the role:



  • Assess patients and determine their requirements

  • Provide Individual and group education and treatment

  • Facilitate the group program

  • Contribute to research

  • Work closely and liaise with referring doctors, insurers, and rehabilitation providers to accomplish therapeutic and organisational goals

  • Report to the Innervate Service Director


About you:



  • You will be responsible for contributing to, and maintaining, high ethical standards and maintaining evidence-based practice

  • You are highly motivated, and seeking to use your excellent clinical, group work, training and liaison skills

  • You are reliable, enjoy autonomy and flexibility in the context of a caring and supportive interdisciplinary professional team, and can adapt as needed

  • Your interest includes managing people with chronic illness and rehabilitation.

  • You are motivated by outcomes

  • You have, or are willing to obtain AHPRA registration, a SIRA NSW approval number, and a Medicare provider number; and, have a willingness to work in accordance with Medicare, DVA, workers compensation, motor accident, and other third party requirements

  • You have a current NSW driver's license and transport

  • You have strong inter-personal and rapport building skills and are a confident communicator.

  • You have MS Office skills, particularly in Word, Excel and Outlook, and have excellent report writing skills
