Flying Brick Cider House is all about fabulous food without the 'fancy'.  It offers a contemporary and distinctively different menu designed to inspire, share and indulge.  Local produce and community group partnership are both key features. We are seeking a skilled and talented Full Time Sous Chef to join our innovative kitchen team at Flying Brick Cider House reporting directly to the Head Chef.  You will be passionate about creating amazing food, working efficiently and effectively, highly motivated and a true hospitality professional who will perfectly complement our unique venue.


All about the role:



  • Assist the Head Chef with menu preparation and ensuring adequate supplies are available for expected service

  • Liaise with the Front of House employees regarding the availability of menu items, additions to the menu and any relevant changes

  • Supervision of the kitchen in the absence of the Head Chef

  • Maintain excellent presentation standards and cost control whilst maintaining recipe standards

  • Ensure strict stock rotation and minimum wastage

  • Keep all working areas clean and tidy & ensuring all equipment is maintained, serviced and cleaned to OHS standards


All about you:



  • Previous experience in a similar role

  • Trade qualifications

  • Experience leading staff during service and a passion for developing junior team members

  • Great communication skills and ability to keep cool, calm and collecting under pressure

  • Ability to maintain high and consistent standards

  • Excellent organisational skills & grooming standards

  • Ability to maintain food safety standards and HACCP requirements

  • Flexibility to work a variety of shifts including weekends and public holidays

  • Full working rights in Australia
